LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IN THE RED CORNER I GIVE YOU THE POKER PRINCESS OF PARIS, TANYA 'THEMOOSHY' HOLBROOK!
Tanya Holbrook goes by many names. Some call her Themooshy, others the Euro-Starlet. Petrified Al-Qaeda operatives out of a mixture of fear and respect nicknamed her 'Lady War-Machine' while the people of her new city have dubbed her 'The Poker-Princess of Paris'. Experts referred to her as the real talent behind the 'Fulham Foursome' but I simply refer to her as that poor lady who has to put up with Blocky. Well this week Tanya added another name by which she can be known - DBB Classic Champion! Since her debut 5 weeks ago, Tanya has brought her A-Game to the tables, demonstrating patience and going deep. It was only a matter of time before she chalked up her first victory and it turned out not to be very much time. Galactus X busted early in 9th as did DBB newbie MVP CARDINAL (8th), Thefloof (7th) and Chipless Wonder (6th). Half an hour in and Stinky Budz would hit the rail in 5th, eliminated by LAPPIN who had by that time amassed a commanding chip-lead. Runaway league-leader GINNELL was still nicely in contention as was Themooshy and DBB's other debutante, Fashola 'Acequicksilver' Bukola. Acequicksilver was extremely unlucky to bust in 4th, correctly putting LAPPIN on a draw but failing to fade the 10 outs LAPPIN needed on the river. GINNELL fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed in 3rd, paving the way for LAPPIN and Themooshy to go to war. LAPPIN held an enormous 4-1 chip advantage and looked to be in the box-seat. The first 10 hands of Heads-up were uneventful with both combatants sizing each other up with pre-flop raises, small bets and few flops. The second 10 hands of Heads-up were very eventful with LAPPIN being masterfully outplayed and out-manoeuvred by Themooshy. The chip-lead flip-flopped and in the end LAPPIN's remaining chips all went in with AQ preflop to the AK of Themooshy. The AK held and a deserving champion was crowned.

LAPPIN'S PERFECT 10!
thirty-six minutes of high octane action in this week's Turbo as LAPPIN took down his 10th Bellybuster Tourney. Dinkydoofus was the unfortunate last-place finisher, losing set-over-set to Jacaranda three hands in. Smokin Biffs (9th) insisted he was retiring forever after he walked his AK into the KK of his perpetual nemesis Stinky Budz. Stinky himself then hit the rail in 8th, followed shortly after by the snoozy Thang911 (7th), Phishingirl (6th) and Rounder63 (5th). Badbeatspoker.net forumer Ben 'SemiEsq' Scherner made an excellent debut and was very unlucky to take some beats which put him out in the bubble. Third place went to Chipless Wonder who continued his exemplary DBB form and so it was Jacaranda and LAPPIN who would do battle for the win. LAPPIN had a 2-1 chiplead but that was quickly eaten up by the man who currently sits top of DBB's Number All-Rounder League Table. With the stacks level, however, it came down to a coinflip for all the money. Jacaranda's AJ versus LAPPIN's 66. The pocket pair held and LAPPIN was victorious.

LAPPIN ON CLOUD NUMBER 9
LAPPIN took down his 9th Bellybuster tournament tonight as 20 took to the cyberfelt. An hour into the contest and there were plenty of familiar faces at the final table. Phishingirl busted in 9th. Spudfish, Roboconnor and the volatile Dinkydoofus came 8th, 7th and 6th respectively. Another awesome performance from Themooshy as she locked up 5th spot. GINNELL then did what GINNELL does and donked it in the bubble, making it his third 4th place in a row. Three-handed battle saw the ever-consistent Jacaranda, the cagey Capt Sparkle and the recently nicknamed 'River-King' (by GINNELL) LAPPIN go to war. Jacaranda took 3rd and it was all to play for as both Capt Sparkle and LAPPIN had approximately 15K stacks. There was some to-ing and fro-ing before LAPPIN asserted himself to take a 2-1 chiplead. Shortly after, Capt Sparkle was caught twice with a pair of audacious river bluffs and LAPPIN made it a 3-1 lead. With the blinds big, Ace-High was good enough for LAPPIN to shove and King-High was good enough for the Captain to call. The Ace-High held and LAPPIN was the winner.

STINKY SMOKES BIFFS IN STONER WAR
Quickfire madness as 19 showed up for this week's Turbo. In less than an hour, it was all over and, despite being high on eleven different substances, up-and-coming Poker Pro Stinky Budz emerged victorious over his next-door neighbour Smokin Biffs who confessed afterward that he was only off his face on nine. Fifteen minutes into the contest and there were already seven casualties: Niner1984 (19th), AceJackSooted (18th), Phishingirl (17th), Jacaranda (16th), Otbdave (15th), Thang911 (14th) and DBB newcomer Green 'Flyerz9725' Watkins (13th). From there, the tourney became even more insane. Short-handed with escalating blinds, it was an all-in fest! Chris 'GoMukYaSelf' Sparks departed in 12th. WhySoCereus came 11th. Break_evan got 10th. The Final Table was populated with the League's top 4. As the action hotted up, Dr Fill, Roboconnor, Rounder63 and LAPPIN were all vying for greatness. DBB newb Matt 'LovesDeuces' White fell in 9th. Roboconnor was next to go in 8th while LAPPIN and Rounder63 took 7th and 6th respectively. Connecticut's very own Jeff 'Bbfcm06' Hettrick put in an excellent effort in his first ever DBB tourney. He showed discipline (maybe too much!) and patience to finish a respectable 5th. Bubbletime was shortlived. The very next hand, Dr Fill got it in bad and was out in 4th, leaving Clover23, Smokin Biffs and Stinky Budz to fight it out for the money spots. Stinky was running the table and it was he who sent Clover23 to the rail in 3rd. Two hands later, it would be his neighbour who was eliminated as Stinky Budz took down the tourney in style (and on weed!)
$5 CLASSIC - SPRING/AUTUMN '08 WEEK 12:
GALACTUS CERTAINLY HAS THE X FACTOR
Another excellent turn-out for the DBB Classic this week as 19 men and women in 5 different countries crossed swords. When the dust settled, a triumphant Ben 'Galactus X' Suver stood alone. For the third consecutive week, the Classic Title had gone overseas. The tournament started frenetically with a host of early KOs. Phishingirl (19th) was gone instantly. Blink and you missed Break_Evan's (18th) effort. Smokin Biffs (17th) and Otbdave (16th) barely made it to the 2nd level. Formerly of the Fulham Foursome, now Parisian Poker Princess, Themooshy (15th) had her QQ cracked and hit the rail early while Lostcause101 (14th) paid the ultimate price for his trademark preflop aggression. As the two tables became increasingly short-handed, the aggression level rose. DBB debutante and Atlantic City regular IllWill215 was the next casualty, departing in 13th, followed shortly by LAPPIN (12th), the tournament's early chipleader, after his aces were cracked by Stinky Budz. Next to hit the rail were flatmates Foxhandybread (11th) and Capt Sparkle (10th), both turning in solid performances but missing out on making the Final Table as they had the week before. The lights were set. The cameras were rolling. The Final Table was upon us. Mark Tully (9th) quickly bowed out. DBB newcomer Dave 'Colburn0004' Colburn took 8th. Rounder63 folded his way to 7th and Roboconnor came 6th. 5-handed, Thefloof recognised that it was time to make a move and accumulate chips. Unfortunately for him, his move was a lateral one out the door. It was bubble-time! And for all of you uninitiated out there bubble-time is that magical time when one player who has toiled all night, demonstrated patience, picked his spots well, hits the rail empty-handed. That player's name? Well, Luke Ginnell, of course! Yes, DBB Classic League Leader, GINNELL made it his 4th bubble in 6 weeks, paving the way for Thang911, Stinky Budz and Galactus X to fight it out for top spot. After a brief tussle, Thang took 3rd. Stinky Budz gave Galactus X a run for his money but in the end, the Badbeatspoker forumer got it in good and had his hand hold up.
$24 HIGH-ROLLER - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 7:
ROBOCONNOR RIDES HIGH IN THE HIGH-ROLLER!
When his Aces hold up, Roboconnor is a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately for him, that only happens once a Bellybuster Season. The early High-Roller casualties this week were Break_evan (8th), the absent Rounder63 (7th) and the perpetually unlucky Phishingirl (6th). Next to be eliminated was Stinky "My hands never hold up and I never win a single flip but oh wait, I have made over $50K in the last 6 weeks so maybe I should stop complaining coz I actually run really good!" Budz (5th) followed by last week's winner Thang911 in 4th. Three handed saw two of Dublin's finest battle the might of Badbeatspoker.net. LAPPIN and Roboconnor would scrap it out with Otbdave, ensuring that someone was about to win their first ever High-Roller Title. But who would it be? Otbdave has flattered to deceive, his below-par Bellybuster record thus far failing to do justice to his undoubted abilities. Roboconnor was languishing bottom of the High-Roller League Table. Demonstrating his inability to close, LAPPIN had come 2nd or 3rd in 4 of the previous 6 weeks. As play got more aggressive, Roboconnor stretched his chiplead. LAPPIN eventually succumbed, hitting the rail in his usual 3rd spot. That left Roboconnor and Otbdave to fight it out for the win. Heads-up was a protracted affair with Otbdave being the more aggressive. Rob seemed content to wait for slightly better cards while any two were good enough for Dave in position. Dave's aggression paid off as he over-turned Rob's chiplead. That prompted Rob to change styles and gamble it up. Eventually, after much to-ing and fro-ing, all the money got into the middle. Dave was in the lead but the best hand is a fickle thing in poker. Rob sucked out and in doing so, scooped 1st place prize money. Both he and Dave played an awesome game all night and either would have been a deserving winner. Congratulations to Rob who has well and truly but the misery of his '07 season behind him.
$10 TURBO - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 10:
RYAN 'SIRPOKERBROKER' HOLLAND MAKES IT 3 OUT OF THE LAST 4 TURBOS FOR THE BADBEATSPOKER.COM MEN
The badbeatspoker crew are taking over and there's nothing we can do to stop them! For the past month, they have been coming in here week in week out, hell-bent on stealing our glory, our money, our bragging rights. And quite frankly, what do you expect? They are for the most part Americans so they know all about non-hostile (and hostile) take-overs. This week's General Tommy Franks was DBB debutante Ryan 'Sirpokerbroker' Holland who played superb poker and outlasted a field of 12. Exactly 36 minutes earlier, LAPPIN (though he swears it was Michelle who clicked the button) donked off his stack with top pair top kicker to Thang911's nut straight. He was followed shortly by WhySoCereus (11th) who overplayed his pocket 9s on an ace-high board. Joe 'The Elegance' Beevers was next to depart in 10th place and in no time, it was already Final Table time. Phishingirl, who had started brightly, bowed out in 9th with Dinkydoofus (8th) and Thefloof (7th) not far behind her. That left Roboconnor (sitting in 2nd on the League Table) and Thang911 to duke it our with the badbeatspoker foursome of Niner1984, Kojangie, Dr Fill Good (to be fair, he was a Bellybuster first) and Sirpokerbroker. Niner1984 hit the rail in 6th. Roboconnor went out in 5th and Kojangie who had been unlucky for most of the night took 4th. Dr Fill Good came 3rd and in doing so, went top of the League Table (see http://www.dublinbellybusters.com/wednesday-10-turbo.html). Chipleader Thang911 went heads-up with Sirpokerbroker and as anticipated, it was a brief affair. On the second hand they were all-in and the the chiplead changed hands. On the 4th hand they were all-in again and this time it was all over. Congratulations to Sirpokerbroker and congratulations Badbeatspoker.com but I urge you not to let all this success go to your head and beware the Insurgency! Once again, thank-you to Joe Beevers for joining us tonight. His presence is always welcome on the Bellybusters felt as is ours on the Hendon Mob felt. Every Tuesday at 15.00ET is the Hendon Mob League Season 5 where you can play Joe, Barny Ross and Ram for the chance to win a $4K WSOP Prize Package. Not bad for a season of $10 buy-ins!
$5 CLASSIC - SPRING/AUTUMN '08 WEEK 11:
SPARKLE, SPARKLE!
A record twenty-one bellybusters proudly took to the virtual felt this week. Two hours and twenty minutes later, only one remained - Dan 'Capt Sparkle' Read. He was triumphant over Scott 'Chipless Wonder' Cook in what was a truly gladiatorial Heads-up battle. The tournament got underway with three 7-handed tables. Early casualties were Stackinsideways (21st), Thefloof (20th), Mark Tully (19th), Otbdave (18th), Thang911 (17th), Roboconnor (16th) and Kojangie (15th). You would know the Democrats had gotten into power the way wealth was being ferociously redistributed. LAPPIN, GINNELL, Spudfish, Stinky Budz and DBB newbie Smokin Biffs had all doubled up. Next to exit was the consistent Break_evan (14th) followed shortly by Trip Hs in 13th. As the two tables shortened to 6-handed and the blinds increased, play became noticeably more extreme with regular all-ins and fewer flops. LAPPIN shoved his stack and AJ into the AQ of Spudfish and was dispatched to the rail in 12th. On the other table, the absent Rounder63 had finally been blinded off in 11th (some might say a better than average performance from the Online Assassin). Badbeatspoker forumer and without doubt the most celebrated online poker player we have recruited to date, Chris 'GoMukYaSelf' Sparks went out in 10th, paving the way for an intriguing final table. Having played a patient and steady game all night, Tanya 'Themooshy' Holbrook was nursing the shortstack. Spudfish was also short. The major movers were the talkative and entertaining Smokin Biffs, the talkative and less entertaining GINNELL and Chipless Wonder who all had over 5K in chips. Play started off tight as only small pots were contested. That all changed, however, when Phishingirl shoved her stack with pocket 3s from the button and was called by the pocket Kings of Chipless Wonder in the Big Blind. She didn't improve and was out in 9th. Stinky Budz went out at the hands of his next-door neighbour Smokin Biffs in 8th. The Fulham Foursome's Foxhandybread took 7th and Smokin Biffs took 6th. By this stage, Chipless Wonder was running away with it with over 50% of the chips in play with 16K. His only rival looked like Capt Sparkle who had accumulated nicely and was sitting on 8K. A procession followed. Themooshy bowed out in 5th, an exceptional debut (particularly when you consider she was being advised by Thefloof), leaving only Capt Sparkle of the Fulham Foursome left. League leader Ginnell bubbled in 4th and Spudfish took 3rd. Heads-up, Chipless Wonder had 17K to Capt Sparkle's 14K. That lead didn't last long, however, as Capt Sparkle turned up the heat with raises and re-raises preflop. In the end, it all came down to one big hand - Chipless Wonder's A2 versus Capt Sparkle's K8. Scott raised from the button, Dan re-raised, Scott shipped it and Dan called. The flop came JQJ. The turn was a 9. Only a King or a Ten would do it for Dan. The river.... The King of Clubs and it was all over. Congratulations to Dan on his fine performance. We look forward to many more big turnouts in the weeks ahead.
$24 HIGH-ROLLER - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 6:
THANG THE MASTER OUTFOXES THE DUBLIN DUO
Thang 'Thang911' Nguyen outfoxed and outclassed the competition at this week's DBB High-Roller. At the other end of the spectrum, the Badbeatspoker crew all performed under par, perhaps showing that their skills don't extend to deep-stacked poker and are better demonstrated in the donkfest that is the Turbo! Kojangie (11th), Stackinsideways (10th), Chipless Wonder (8th) and Otbdave (7th) took 4 of the bottom 5 spots with Break_evan taking 9th. 6-handed, Roboconnor's poor luck continued as he ran his AJ on a Jack-high board into the JJ of Stinky Budz. He hit the rail in 6th, followed by Phishingirl in 5th. Bubble-time was a fascinating affair as short-stack Rounder63 was not present. His stack was being blinded off but not fast enough for Thang911 and LAPPIN who were being man-handled by a rampant Stinky Budz who fully understood the leverage of this situation. Eventually, Rounder bubbled but not before LAPPIN had survived an all-in bet from Stinky. Three-handed, Stinky's chiplead was eroded from both flanks as he lost his chiplead and then his chips. He took 3rd, leaving LAPPIN and Thang to duke it out. LAPPIN enjoyed a 2-1 chiplead but not for very long as Thang applied constant pressure and extracted maximum value from his hands. Thang played a sohisticated brand of heads-up poker (he has a perfect record versus the badbeatspoker crew in the Heads-Up Challenge Series) and in the end it was too much for LAPPIN who took a respectable 2nd (his best performance to date in the High-Roller). Thang's victory puts him in poll position to make a play for the High-Roller League in the weeks ahead. I advise you to watch this space.
$10 TURBO - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 9:
GREAT SCOTT! CHIPLESS WONDER LEADS THE BADBEATSPOKER.NET TAKEOVER, 'COOKING' UP A STORM!
Badbeatspoker.net leader and all-round poker cognoscenti Scott 'Chipless Wonder' Cook prevailed against DBB's biggest Turbo field to date. It was a crazy-ass game with more all-ins than there are new Sarah Palin outfits. First to exit was Dublin dynamo Stinky Budz in 15th place. LAPPIN took 14th after having spent the first 10 minutes of the tournament disconnected, returning to see AK in the BB, slamming on the 'I'm Back' button just in time, re-raising the button-raiser Paul Hellmuth all-in only for Hellmuth to insta-call, flip up aces and take down the pot. A procession followed: Chicagoapa (13th), DBB newcomer Acejacksooted (12th), Rounder63 (11th) and Horseplyr (10th). The final table was fast and furious. Otbdave took 9th, DBB's other debutante Sleep w Fishes took 8th, thang911 took 7th. Niner1984 fought hard to take a respectable 6th as did Paul Hellmuth who got 5th. Four-handed, Dr Fill Good had the chiplead and he was staying aggressive. Kojangie bubbled in 4th and recent Turbo winner Break-evan fell in 3rd. Chipless Wonder would not be dispatched easily by the rampant Dr Fill (a welcome recent addition to the badbeatspoker.net forum). He won a flip, shoved a lot, lost a 60/40, shoved some more, won a 55/45, lost a flip, folded for a bit and then finally with enormous blinds, called an all-in by Dr Fill with K6. Fill had K4. Both men flopped a piece but Chipless Wonder's pair of 6s would hold for the win. A glance at the leaderboard would show that four Badbeatspoker.net forumers had placed in the top six and five in the top nine. Such a performance forces you to ask questions. What can explain their domination? What do they know that the rest of us don't? What the fuck are they on??? A little research into the matter was in order. So I did some. I put the name 'badbeatspoker.net' through an anagram search-engine I like to call the 'Da Lappin Code'. Needless to say, my findings were startling. Shuffle around the letters and you discover the secret motto of 'badbeatspoker.net' - 'Best bet! Rape a donk!' You also find the answer to what are they on - 'Beer, Pot and K Tabs'. You see everyone - this is irrefutable scientific evidence that they are a hardcore bunch of beer-smoking, pot-toking, ketamine-popping, donkey-fiddlers! We therefore have no real chance of beating them so instead we should just join them at www.badbeatspoker.net
$5 CLASSIC - SPRING/AUTUMN '08 WEEK 10:
ROUNDER63 FIGHTS HIS WAY THROUGH THE BIGGEST BELLYBUSTER FIELD TO DATE
The Los Angeles Lagtard turned Vegas Vigilante, Rounder63 bullied his way through the biggest field in DBB history field to claim his second of no doubt many victories. Whatever criticisms you could leverage at his play early on as he rode his luck to build a big stack, you have to take your hat off to the way this man wields the big stack - constantly raising and re-raising with a deft understanding of the pressure points of a hand. Early exits for Phishingirl (19th) and Mark Tully (18th) as their KK and QQ were simultaneously cracked by the 79 of LostCause101 who flopped both flush and gutshot straight draws. Not far behind them were Weaselator (17th) and LAPPIN (16th), LAPPIN's AK being cruelly rivered by Rounder63's overplayed KQ. 15th and 14th respectively were Capt Sparkle and DBB newcomer Ben 'foxhandybread' Marshall, the two protoges of Thefloof who has spent recent weeks conducting some poker-tutorials from his Fulham home. Badbeatspoker forumer Ben 'Galactus X' Suver took 13th while Poker Pro Michael Craig hit the rail in 12th. Shorthanded on the two remaining tables, play was stepping up a gear. Players got frisky as they try to double up for the Final Table. Roboconnor tripled up with aces, Break_evan raked in a few pots, DBB newbie Paul 'Godzdice' Bonifazi some well timed moves and Rounder63 did what Rounder63 does - he raised every pot! The heat was too much for Thefloof and Microphone Head who both bowed out in 11th and 10th, missing out of a final table spot and LostCause101 who was leaking chips left and right. Play tightened up a fraction as play went 9-handed. DBB's leading All-Rounder Jacaranda came 9th, followed shortly after by Roboconnor (8th) and Jessica 'FeistyAngel2' Pagan (7th) who made a better showing than she had an hour earlier during her DBB debut. LostCause101 fell in 6th, Dinkydoofus claimed 5th and DBB's prodigious new recruit Stephen 'Stinky Budz' O'Connor bubbled in 4th. So who would meet Rounder63 Heads-up? Would it be German SNG maestro Joerg 'Break-evan' Boerner who had won his only DBB tourney to date. Would it be MTT specialist GodzDice, who all-night had refused to back down to Rounder63's rampant aggression? Rounder63 eliminated Break_evan setting up a heads-up confrontation that could in all likelihood get personal. GodzDice played an awesome tourney but he would succumb to Rounder63 in the end. The Prince of Palmdale was not to be denied. God help us all if Rounder63 keeps catching cards because when he has the chips, he sure as fuck knows how to use them!
$24 HIGH-ROLLER - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 5:
MICROPHONE HEAD WINS IN ELITE COMPANY
This double-stacked slow-format tournament is designed for loads of play. It encourages spandex poker in the early levels. So the 12 elite warriors who took to the cyber-felt could all expect good value for their buy-in. What happened? 5 minutes in, three players were already eliminated - DBB debutante Jessica 'FeistyAngel2' Pagan (12th) exited first hand, her pocket aces walking into the flopped nut-flush of Steve 'Microphone Head' Suarez. The very next hand, a preflop raising war began between roboconnor and the newly doubled-up Microphone Head. Rob raised, Steve reraised, Rob re-re-raised, Steve shipped it, Rob called. Steve flipped up Kings to Rob's Aces. But before we could commiserate with Steve on this cooler, out flopped a King and it ws instead Rob (11th) who would need commiserating. Meanwhile, on the other table, Thefloof (10th) was going bananas with a marginal holding, fresh-air bluffing off his chips to Stinky Budz. 9-handed and still super deep, the game took on a more expected pace. Small pots, little raises, chips going back and forth. This was clearly not the game Rounder63 signed up for. He turned up the heat, splashing his chips around but it would prove his undoing this time. He took 9th, followed by Dinkydoofus in 8th. Lappin was crippled by Stinky Budz when his AK walked into Stinky's 1010 on a A-10-4 board. In truth, Lappin was lucky to keep the 800 chips still in his stack by playing the hand like a pussy. Half an hour later, Phishingirl would get bad-beated out in 7th and Paul 'GodzDice' Bonifazi would follow her to the rail in 6th. Break-evan played his usual solid game but went out in 5th, leaving Dubliners LAPPIN and Stinky Budz to battle it out with the nitty Jacaranda and the skilful Microphone Head. By this time, LAPPIN had mounted a significant comeback and even took the chiplead at one point. Bubble-time can make people do funny things and Jacaranda will be the first to admit his all-in call with A7 was a little reckless but to be fair to him, he was sick of being pushed around by Microphone Head who had targetted his blinds all night. Jacaranda would bow out in 4th, another great effort from the man who is continues to compile DBB's most consistent resume. Stinky then won a huge pot from Microphone Head but next out would be LAPPIN who got it in good 66 vs a6 but would be bad-beated by Microphone's river Ace. Stinky had the chiplead heads-up but not for long. Microphone Head either had the cards or the right moves as he pummelled Stinky with raises. Stinky saw his 3-2 chiplead transformed into a 3-2 deficit and he was, as they say in that Vegas household, "primed". Microphone Head shoved preflop - a huge raise 20 times the BB. Stinky tanked. He was sick of being pushed around and clearly tempted by the marginal holding before him. He eventually called, flipping up A8. It was not good news. Microphone Head had AJ. Stinky didn't improve so finally, after 2 hours and 15 minutes (DBB's longest ever tourney), Microphone Head scooped what was the biggest prize in DBB history to date. Good job Sir and we all wish you a speedy recovery.
$10 TURBO - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 8:
FOUR-LEAFED CLOVER23 HAS THE LUCK AND THE SKILLS!
Ryan 'Clover23' Meyer took down his first Bellybusters tourney this week. His turbo strategy worked perfectly as he showed a willingness to gamble it up, usually getting in with the best of it. The tourney started briskly with Full Tilt pro Joe Beevers walking his 99 into the persistent K10 of Thefloof. A 10 of spades on the flop crippled him and as the vultures circled, it was Jacaranda who provided the fatal blow two hands later. Joe hit the rail in last place followed shortly after by otbdave in 10th. Despite the early double-up, Thefloof managed to fall in 9th. Tully went out in 8th and Dr Fill went out in 7th. 6-handed, the game loosened up further (if that were possible) as few pots were contested with a single bet. Phishingirl continued her disappointing season, busting out in 6th. Thang911 was bad-beated out in 5th and moments later, LostCause101 (4th), looking to be the bully in the bubble, was trapped by LAPPIN for all his chips. LAPPIN (3rd) fell next, leaving Jack 'Jacaranda' Cranley and Clover23 to fight it out for the win. Evenly stacked, Jacaranda shoved his button and took down the pot. Clover23 shoved his button took down the next pot. A pattern was emerging. Jacaranda shoved his button again and Clover tanked but folded. Next hand, Clover limped. Jacaranda instantly shoved and Clover instantly called with A4. A brave move but an ingenius one as Jacaranda flipped up 64. The board didn't save Jack and Clover23 took it down.
$5 CLASSIC - SPRING/AUTUMN '08 WEEK 9:
SPUDFISH BREAKS HIS DUCK!
Only six made it to the cyber-felt as birthday parties, comedy gigs and the change of daylight savings time conspired to keep the turn-out low. Ken 'Spudfish' Taylor took full advantage, notching up his first DBB victory. DBB's only all-Irish couple suffered similar fates as Roboconnor hit the rail early, followed not long after by Suze10. Thefloof bubbled in 4th and Dr Fill Good got his money back for 3rd. Padder took on Spudfish heads-up but the young maestro was unable to win his 2nd Classic of the season. Instead, the 100 DBB points and the lions share of the spoils went to Spudfish who skyrockets off the base of the Classic League Table.

BREAK_EVAN BEATS PAUL HELLMUTH IN THE BATTLE OF GERMANY
Four newcomers hit the DBB felt this week and three of them took all the money. Three-handed, Joerg 'Break_evan' Boerner, Paul Hellmuth and 77Goldnutz77 battled it out. Typically, the European contingent showed their prowess as the talented Goldnutz bowed out in 3rd leaving the German pair to fight it out for first. Earlier in the night, the other newbie niner1984 was the first eliminated in 8th with online guru dinkydoofus taking 7th. Phishingirl fell in 6th and LAPPIN (clearly missing his missus) followed her to the rail in 5th the very next hand. Dr Fill Good put in another solid performance, taking 4th. Heads-up, Evan and Paul tussled for several hands, chips going back and forth but in the end, Evan would prevail.

EXTRA, EXTRA! PIGS NOW PILOTING RYANAIR FLIGHTS AND MARK TULLY WINS A POKER TOURNAMENT!
No, you're not seeing things! Mark Tully, the samurai of the suited-connectors, the over-lord of the over-bet, the self-titled "Mr. First or Last" did something he hasn't done since the phrase 'money in the bank' actually meant something. He didn't come last. He came... first! The tourney started with the DBB's other Mr. First or Last, LostCause101 busting in last with LAPPIN not far behind him. Full Tilt regulars Stinky Budz and Rounder63 were next to go in 9th and 8th respectively. DBB's most in-form player of late roboconnor hit the rail in 7th, GINNELL took 6th and Weaselator took 5th. That left chipleaders Tully and Phishingirl1 to fight it out with Russian online pro dinkydoofus and Suze10. With rising blinds and increasingly aggressive play, Suze10 bubbled in 4th and Dinkydoofus bowed out in 3rd. Phishingirl prepared for war but the ginger samurai was not to be denied. Mark Tully took it down, insisting in a post-match interview that this would be the beginning of a hot streak for him. We'll see Mark.... we'll see!
$10 TURBO - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 6:
STACKINSIDEWAYS STACKS THE COMPETITION
DBB welcomed four new players for Week 6 of the Turbo Season. Fresh from last Sunday's Heads-up victory versus LAPPIN, Cory 'Stackinsideways' Marino played and won his first ever DBB tourney, pipping other DBB newbie Brad 'horseplyr' Kuehn and fellow Badbeatspoker forumer Scott 'Chipless Wonder' Cook in 2nd and 3rd respectively. It was a fiercely contested game with the in-form Roboconnor bubbling in 4th, LAPPIN taking 5th and Full Tilt pro and author Michael Craig taking 6th. Dr Fill Good was further back in 7th while Phishingirl1 took 8th. It was a less illustrious debut for our other two newbies as Dublin-based MTT specialist Stephen 'Stinky Budz' O'Connor and Badbeatspoker moderator and cash game specialist Dave 'obtdave' Walasinski took 9th and last place. In Obtdave's defence, he was coolered early on by Stackinsideways who he flopped top set on a 10-9-3 board only for Dave to have pocket 9s for middle set and no way to escape.

LAPPIN VICTORY PUTS HIM BACK ON TOP
In a tourney that welcomed back two of DBB's prodigal sons, LAPPIN notched up his 3rd Classic victory of the '08 Season. He started brightly, doubling up through Phishingirl1 after using the additional information at his disposal by being in the room with her - the look on her face when she raised all-in. Not far behind her were Mark Tully, DBB's biggest donator this season, who finished in 8th spot and Wesaelator who finished in 7th. In the middle portion of the game, LAPPIN, Roboconnor, GINNELL and Lostcause101 accumulated chips to the detriment of Thang911 and Suze10 who leaked them. Thang took 6th, Suze took 5th and as we approcahed the break, the battle was on. GINNELL bubbled in 4th but was unlucky for all his chips - his AQ failing to beat LAPPIN's A9. That put short-stack Roboconnor into the money for the 3rd consecutive DBB tourney but he only lasted another couple of hands, perishing at the hands of LostCause101. LAPPIN and LostCause101 then went to war, play being characterised by the pre-flop over-betting and general aggression of LostCause. This aggression eventually backfired on him as he raised his button with the 34 of hearts. LAPPIN smooth-called with aces, hoping to trap LostCause for all his chips. The flop came with a 3 and two hearts on it. As expected, LostCause shoved. As expected, LAPPIN called and to his surprise found himself small under-dog. However, the turn and river were blanks for LostCause, LAPPIN's aces holding, giving him the tournament and the league lead.

"SOLID AS A ROC(K)!"
In defense of this headline, it is widely speculated that this 1994 Merle Haggard song was actually written for Rob to commemorate the last time he won a game of poker. To be honest, you might have to go even further back in the annals to find a Mark Tully victory on the cyber-felt. Mark exited stage left in record time tonight after over-playing a gut-shot. Not far behind him was Spudfish who was unlucky to wake up with a hand when LAPPIN went 7-2 bounty-hunting. Spudfish's short-stack offered LAPPIN the correct pot-odds to make an ugly call and quelle surprise but didn't a 7 appear right in the window. Rounder63, Suze10 and GINNELL departed in 10th, 9th and 8th while the recently in-form Thefloof bowed out in 7th. When Phishingirl hit the rail in 6th, it was anyone's game with everyone having above 3K and no-one having more than 4K. It was nip and tuck as small pots were exchanged. That was until Galactus X got it all-in bad versus Jacaranda and LAPPIN was cruelly pummelled by a trademark Roboconnor river-miracle. Would that be the last time he pulled a 3-outer out of his ass in this tournament? Only time would tell. Padder, who had played solidly all evening, took third, leaving Jacaranda Heads-Up for the second time in the same evening. He announced that he was going for part 2 of the DBB Triple Crown but Roboconnor was unfased. Why? Because he knew what Jacaranda didn't - the bruises hadn't begun to show yet but Rob had been and would continue to be hit in the face hard by the deck. The two titans exchanged jabs, small and medium sized pots going back and forth. The blinds grew and the action was forced. Roboconnor eeked his way to a 2-1 chiplead. Jacaranda went all-in with Q9. Roboconnor called with Q3. The flop came all blanks. The turn came another blank. Jacaranda in command - 93% to 7%. This would give him a big chiplead over Rob. It was time for the deck to deal the knockout blow. The river... a three and Jacaranda hit the canvas. It was all over.

JACARANDA IS KING OF THE HIGH-ROLLERS
Jacaranda is DBB's only 100% man having won on both his High-Roller appearances this season. Playing with his trademark nitty style, he expertly negotiated his way through the early levels as Galactus X, Spudfish and Phishingirl1 fell by the wayside. The other early mover was the confident and aggressive Rounder63 who re-raised and re-re-raised, bullying his way to a big stack. Four-handed, all the players made the appropriate gear changes, NAG40 was unlucky to bubble, followed shortly after by LAPPIN. This paved the way for a fascinating Heads-Up battle. The Nit versus the The Maniac. Would Jacaranda be brushed aside by a rampant raising-machine? Or would Rounder63 disappear into an expertly laid snare? On this occasion, it would be the latter as Jacaranda took home the 100 DBB points along with the lion's share of the prize-pool.

A VERY SERIOUS ROUNDER63 STOMPS HIS WAY TO VICTORY
"I took it seriously this week" said a victorious Nicolas 'Rounder63' Carrillo just moments after claiming his first of no doubt many Bellybuster victories. This Turbo-charged format rewards rampant aggression and if ever there was rampant aggression personified, that would be Rounder63, who goaded his foes all night and never failed to miss his draws. Rampant aggression also needs to be well-timed aggression as LAPPIN learned to his detriment early on, donking off his chips to the trappy limped aces of Dr Fill Good. Other early exits included the normally reliable Galactus X and GINNELL. As the blinds rose, pressure mounted on the short stacks. Jacaranda was eliminated in 6th, NAG40 followed in 5th and last week's winner Thefloof bubbled in 4th. Phishingirl and Dr Fill were still in contention but Rounder63 was sitting on a huge chiplead. All-in followed all-in as Phishingirl doubled up through Dr Fill, leaving him with a stub. Rounder63 finished the job eliminating Dr Fill in 3rd and we were heads-up between him and fellow Full Tilt veteran Michelle 'Phishingirl1' DuBois. The first hand of heads-up saw a big pot go Phishingirl's way. She was back in the running. A few hands later there was nothing between them. On the final hand, Phishingirl bet with a flopped 2 pair, Rounder63 raised his flush draw, Phishingirl reraised and Rounder shoved. A club on the turn meant that Phishingirl needed to river a boat. She didn't and it was all over. God help us all if Rounder brings his serious game in the future!

DAVE 'THEFLOOF' BLOCK CRUCIFIES THE COMPETITION
Okay, before this website gets pulled off the net for anti-Semitic sentiment, I would like to bow down to the greatness of Dave 'thefloof' Block who treated us to yet another masterclass in aggressive short-handed poker. His decision-making was first-rate in what was another tumultuous night on the DBB felt. Props also to Roboconnor who played his best game in the post-911 era with again credit going to the irrepressible Dr Fill who seems to cash every time he plays. Unlucky to bubble was DBB debutante Michael 'Trip Hs' who battled impressively against a tough field. Ken 'Spudfish' Taylor put in his own personal best tonight as he came mid-pack along side Blanchardstown man NAG40 who performed admirably on this his first time out. Behind them were Thang 'Thang911' Nguyen, LAPPIN and Shauna 'ChicagoAPA' Elizabeth whose secretiveness about her identity has lead many to believe that she might, in fact, be Hollywood starlet Shannon Elizabeth. (We live in hope!) Rounding off the field were Jack 'Jacaranda' Cranley and who.... Well, it's obvious isn't it? That's right, our very own Mark Tully who cannot seem to catch a break (to be fair, he ran his 'top-top' into bottom set tonight). Commentators have suggested that Mark is dealing with a prolonged period of bad karma. Lappin's underpants, his glasses, his relationship with his girlfriend and his depleted stock of Bombay Sapphire all agree.

TUGBOAT101 PICKS PLENTY OF FIGHTS AND WINS HIS ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN VERSUS KOJANGIE
Dave 'Tugboat101' Dunk steamed his way to victory, showing that he's as capable of getting down and dirty in a scrap on the cyber-felt as he his in the UFC ring. Taking 2nd spot was Kojangie who proved to be the most difficult opponent to knock out. However, he, like so many before him, ultimately succumbed to the power-poker of the mighty Tugboat. Phishingirl took 3rd spot with GINNELL and LAPPIN taking 4th and 5th respectively. 6th went to Nick 'Rounder63' Carrillo who had instigated many a battle with Tugboat throughout the contest. Words were exchanged between the two as Rounder63 put Tugboat to the test with his repetoire of trademark speech plays. To Rounder63's credit, he 'goaded' a call from the worst hand only to be outdrawn by the unstoppable Tugboat. Newcomer Snipes1010 took 7th with perpetual donkatron Mark Tully taking 8th. Disappointing efforts from Padder and Thefloof saw them take 9th and last respectively.
$24 HIGH-ROLLER - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 3:
DAVE 'THEFLOOF' BLOCK IS LORD OF THE HIGH-ROLLERS - YOU MUST BE JEW-KING!
Fresh from his intensive one week poker academy with LAPPIN, Dave 'thefloof' Block railroaded the competition at this weeks High-Roller tourney. He made several bold plays, rode his luck and was ultimately rewarded for his aggressive approach. Early exits for Rounder63, Tugboat101 and LAPPIN paved the way for a high-standard 4-handed affair with Phishingirl1 and Thefloof battling it out for the chiplead. Kojangie was next to be eliminated, followed shortly after by Phishingirl who succumbed to some patented Blocky aggression. Paddy 'Dr Fill Good' McAllister had paced his rise to the top nicely, his play characterised by a tighter, more small-ballsy approach. He was finesse to Blocky's ferocity as the two battled heads-up, Paddy keen to play small pots while Blocky tried to force the action, making big raises preflop. The tactic paid off as Blocky caught some cards and felted Paddy within 15 hands.

ROUNDER63'S RECKLESS APPROACH ULTIMATELY COSTS HIM AS LAPPIN SQUEAKS HOME TO ANOTHER VICTORY
Thirty minutes of turbo madness! 16.04: Rounder63 bad-beats ChicagoAPA; 16.08: Rounder felts thefloof; 16.10: Roboconnor bows out; 16.18: Phishingirl hits the rail; 16.19 - 16.24: Rounder goes all-in every hand, a tactic which ultimatley backfires as he doubles up LAPPIN three times; 16.25: Having four minutes earlier possessed 65% of the chips on the table, Rounder bubbles; 16.27: DBB newcomer Snipes1010 busts out; 16.33: After 5 minutes and just 7 hands of heads-up play, LAPPIN sneeks home with Mike 'Holdemplayer81' Gilbert taking a worthy 2nd place in his first ever outing for the Bellybusters.

DUBLINERS LAPPIN AND GINNELL SHOW THE LAS VEGAS KIDS HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE
17 hit the cyberfelt in what was the biggest ever DBB tourney turn-out. This is not only testament to the growing popularity of the game but also to the swelling of our ranks here at www.dublinbellybuster.com. Early confrontations on Table 1 saw Microphone Head bludgeon his way to the chiplead, fearlessly making moves and putting his opponents to big decisions. Falling victim to this approach was Spudfish and Kojangie who reported to the rail early. Meanwhile on Table 2, it was a bit more cagey as GINNELL and Suze10 made small inroads at the expense of Roboconnor and Padder who were both felted in the first 20 minutes. As we approached the hour-mark, the tables were fused as thefloof, Mark Tully, Phishingirl and DBB newbie and Badbeats regular Michael 'Blue_O_Rock' Adams were eliminated. It was now, as they say 'on' as Vegas showboaters Rounder63 and Microphone Head turned the screw. Microphone Head, in particular, showed himself willing to mix it up with any two cards as he played almost every hand, looking to bully his opponents with his mammoth chiplead. Chipless Wonder, Jacaranda and Suze10 all succumbed to the Vegas assassin as did Badbeats boys/DBB debutantes Bill 'Rdsknman' Bell and Michael 'TurboGP' Murphy. This left shortstacks Ginnell and Rounder63 to battle it out with Microphone Head and LAPPIN - LAPPIN's late surge coming to the detriment of Microphone Head who was comprehensively outplayed in a series of hands, the most memorable of which was an audacious call by the Dubliner with K high to chop the pot. The chatbox abuse back and forth was relentless as LAPPIN and Microphone Head sought to get into each other's head. In the end, it was LAPPIN who came out on top, bubbling Microphone Head. Rounder63 was next to go, leaving Dublin pair, GINNELL and LAPPIN to duke it out for the win. The final hand was a bit of a cooler for GINNELL who rivered his flush after LAPPIN had turned a boat. LAPPIN overbet the pot on the river, pushing Ginnell all-in in the hopes that he had caught his flush. To GINNELL's credit, he mulled over the decision, ultimately making a crying call after using up most of his time-bank.
$24 HIGH-ROLLER - AUTUMN '08 WEEK 2:
DBB DEBUTANTE JACARANDA WINS IN STYLE
Jacaranda did what Padder had done the week before - win his first Bellybuster Tourney at the first attempt. His solid style paid dividends as he battled through a tough field who have a combined career profit of well over $300,000. At the other end of the spectrum, Vegas Live Pro and Online Heads-up pro (all other online games are rigged naturally!) Steve 'Microphone Head' Suarez came last in his first Bellybuster with LAPPIN and Rounder63 not far behind him. Connecticut poker prodigy WhySoCereus also made his debut tonight as did Badbeats guru Scott Cook as they turned in midpack finishes, taking 6th and 5th respectively. Four-handed saw play loosen up as Kojangie, thefloof, Phishingirl and Jacaranda mixed things up with some aggressive play. Kojangie was next to fall, followed shortly after by thefloof. This paved the way for a deep-stacked Heads-up rumble between Full Tilt regulars Phishingirl and Jacaranda. It was nip and tuck early on with both players content to play small pots. However, play got more extreme when 'Jac' got his nose in front as he forced the action and ultimately took down the tourney.

LAPPIN QUITS HIS DAY JOB AS DAVE 'TUGBOAT101' DUNK WINS THE BATTLE OF PORTOBELLO DOCK
"Don't quit your day job" - That was both the message in the chatbox and the hollar through the wall at 5 Portobello Dock when Dave 'Tugboat101' Dunk took down Week 2 of this season's $10 Turbo. Lappin placed 2nd with Patrick 'Dr Fill Good' McAllister taking 3rd. As would be expected, this Turbo format generates a lot of early action with the first big hand going to turbo-specialist Rob 'Hypno26' Kenealy. Rob was, however, unable to capitalise on his early treble up, losing a mammoth pot to the pocket aces of Tugboat and finishing just out of the money in 4th. Last week's Classic winner Padder made a speculative/disconnection frustration motivated shove with q10 which sent him out in 5th while Phishingirl took 6th. DBB Live regular Ken 'Spudfish' Taylor made his long-awaited online debut tonight, claiming 7th spot. Below him were the ever-disappointing Mark Tully and DBB newcomer Thang Nguyen.

IRISH WUNDERKIND MAKES HIS MARK
First and foremost, a big thank-you to Michael Craig who turned out for us tonight. Following in the footsteps of Joe Beevers, he took a polite amount of money off us, ensuring that he would be invited back at a future date. Congratulations to Padder, the young Dublin hotshot, who took down his first Bellybusters win at the first time of asking. Three-handed, it looked as if the title might leave The Emerald Isle for only the second time (Phishingirl being the first) as Patrick 'Dr. Fill Good' McAllister (to be fair, a Celtic sounding name) and Michael Craig battled it out with Padraig 'Padder' Dowling way behind in 3rd. However, Padder wasn't about to concede defeat prematurley and he fought back, doubling up through Craig and eventually knocking him out with AA versus AK. He finished the job expertly in what was a short Heads-up battle with Fill, who had himself played an excellent game all night. Suzanne 'suze10' Kenealy performed solidly as usual taking 4th with Nick 'Rounder63' Carrillo taking 5th. Further down the field were DBB regulars Roboconnor, LAPPIN, thefloof and phishingirl who all finished way off the money.

BADBEATSPOKER.NET CREW SHOW NO MERCY AS GALACTUS X AND KOJANGIE SHARE THE SPOILS
Several more new members joined our ranks tonight as DBB's association with www.badbeatspoker.net brought Galactus X and Kojangie to the cyberfelt. Full Tilt regulars Clover23 and Dr Fill Good also made their first appearances, joining LAPPIN, Phishingirl and Rounder63 in what was a double-stack shorthanded battle of the titans. Aggression was the name of the game with most hands being raised and reraised preflop but when the dust settled, it was the badbeatspoker.com pair who fought it out for the honour of first ever DBB High-Roller Champion. Once LAPPIN was eliminated in third, Galactus X out-muscled Kojangie in what was a short Heads-up encounter, taking the lion's share of the prize pool and the 100 DBB pts.

LAPPIN TAKES THE HONOURS AND THE SWAG
We welcomed a number of new members tonight with Rounder63, ChicagoAPA, dinkydoofus, Thang911, CATZEL36 and Hendon Mobster Joe 'The Elegance' Beevers all showing up for DBB's first ever Wednesday night $10 Turbo Tourney. Twelve took to the felt in total and the play was fast and furious with lots of early exits as the 5-minute blind levels forced the action. Playing his draws fast, Mr. Beevers raced into the chiplead, eliminating about half the field on his way to a 2nd place finish. He was, however, pipped by LAPPIN heads-up whose KK held against Beevers's A7 when it all got in pre-flop. This finish not only earned LAPPIN first place money and 100 DBB pts but also saw him scoop both the spot-prizes that Mr. Beevers had generously donated for the competition. Third spot went to the beautiful and talented Phishingirl with newbies Thang911 and ChicagoAPA taking 4th and 5th respectively. Hyper-aggressive tactics from Rounder63, dinkydoofus and LostCause101 saw them all make early progress but ultimately finish mid-pack while DBB regulars Mark Tully and GINNELL got the worst of early coinflips and exited in last and second last respectively.
